Construction Defect Center Now Launches an Initiative Focused on Chinese Copper Residential Plumbing Pipe & Leaks in Newer Subdivisions-Homeowners-Plumbers Save the Pipe

December 4, 2012

Two years ago, the Construction Defect Center began an investigation of copper residential plumbing pipe that was used in new US subdivisions, or condominium projects built after 2005. Initially the groups focus was on cheap, or poorly made copper residential plumbing pipe from China. The group is now looking at all makers-but the emphasis is still Chinese residential copper plumbing pipes, or tubes. The Construction Defect Center’s new worry is the Chinese were possibly marking their copper residential plumbing pipes as Made in the USA, as opposed to marking the copper pipe as made in China. The group believes a journeyman level plumber would instantly know there was a problem based on the weight of the pipe that developed a leak in a home in a subdivision, or condominium unit-because they are seeing the same types of leaks in the same condominiums, or single family home subdivisions. The Construction Defect Complaint Center now wants to hear from plumbing companies, or plumbers is all US states, who have seen the same thing, or share the same concerns about poorly made Chinese made residential copper plumbing pipes, or tubes, the weight of these pipes, and the fact they are failing at unprecedented levels. If a plumber, or plumbing company in the US has proof of this, or has saved some of the Chinese copper pipe they are encouraged to contact the Construction Defect Center at 866-714-6466.

According to Bloomberg News, “On September 27th 2010 The U.S. imposed dumping duties on copper pipes and tubes from China. The United States Department of Commerce imposed the anti dumping sanctions because Chinese copper tube, and pipe makers were flooding the US market. US Manufacturers have complained about dumping less expensive Chinese made copper plumbing pipes on the US markets, and as importantly they have expressed concern about the quality of the Chinese copper pipe.”

The Construction Defect Center is reiterating their warning from earlier in 2012 that all US homeowners, in newer homes built, or remodeled after 2005 to be on the lookout for unexplainable mystery plumbing leaks, especially if it involves copper plumbing pipe. The group is urging US homeowners; especially those in newer subdivisions, or condominium projects to keep the section of copper pipe that was replaced, because it could be vital evidence, should the home need to have all Chinese made copper plumbing pipe replaced. The recommend the pipe section needs to be long enough to indicate where it was made. The group says, “Potentially defective Chinese made copper plumbing pipe is just one more reason the US has to start making things again. What money does anyone save if the entire house has to have all of its Chinese made copper pipe replaced?” http://ConstructionDefectCenter.Com
